odd vocabulary: Music, human noise verbs

A. For music
a musical
a singer
a group of singers (eg in church)= a choir Note: pronunciation ch /kw.../
cf. : an orchestra / ch =  /k/
Mozart was a  classical composer
classical is not = classic
 a song-writer makes up the words, the lyrics
 several pop musicians= a band , or a group
live or recorded/"canned".(live /ai/, adjective NOT the verb to live /I/)
perform, performance, a live performance
 a hit
a catchy tune 
a revival 
to busk/a busker
Other:  
to hose, a hose The firefighter is hosing the building to put out the fire.
to ban, a ban is not = a bang,to bang. Note a ban on eg a ban on smoking, but the verb ban has no preposition: They have banned smoking in schools.
